The Penn Art Association was founded in 1961 with
the purpose of developing, encouraging and maintaining interest in the
arts. The PAA is an all volunteer non-profit organization with over 90
members. Partial funding is provided by a grant from the Pennsylvania
Council on the Arts. Meetings are held from September through May on the
second Tuesday of each month at the Penn Hills Senior Services Center. At each
meeting a guest professional artist provides a demonstration or an
insight into how they work. A widely respected newsletter is published
by PAA.
There are two members-only judged exhibitions with monetary awards each
year. Members also have the opportunity to exhibit their work at local
commercial and municipal sites. The PAA website provides a gallery of
members art.
Membership is open to anyone at least 18 years old without screening or
discrimination. For additional information, contact Millie Tersak,
